110’ POWER STEERING

The simplest, cheapest option is to buy the parts from a similar vehicle that’s being broken. This should include reservoir hoses, power steering pump pulley and mounting bracket; high and low pressure hoses and power steering box with drop arm. This isn’t difficult installation because the high and low pressure pipes are different sizes and can be fitted in only one position. Our advice would be to mount the steering pump bracket first and then the pump. Followed by the steering box. Once this has been bolted up, it’s only a matter of bolting up the reservoir and plumbing everything in fitting a new belt at the end.
Before driving the vehicle, the system will need to be bled. to do this, start the vehicle and open the bleed nipple on top of the steering box until you have a continuous flow of fluid. Close the bleed nipple and cycle the steering from full lock to full lock, slowly stopping on each full lock for about the tree seconds. When you’ve done this for five turns each way, check there’s no more air in the system by bleeding a small quantity of fluid with the steering set straight ahead. Lastly, clean the system ensuring all joint are sealed and leek free.
