THE FREELANDER 2 2010

The Freelander whether 2 will never be as capable as the Discovery from the same eras, but it was never meant to be. If you accept them for what they are, you’ll be amazed at what they can do. Every so often you’ll be able to sow up the drivers of the bigger Land Rovers, lulled into a false sense of security with transfer boxes, diff locks and better ground clearance.

Traction control keep the correct wheels turning, maintaining progress as you cross rough section, and the new to the range Hill Descent Control (HDC) kept a right rain on the vehicle as is drove down step, loose  surfaced hills. Without low range there wasn’t much in the way of engine breaking, so Land Rover installed HDC to compensate for it it’s a clever innovation, still fitted to the Freelander 2.

Part of the reason why Freelanders become incredibly cheap was the introduction of the Freelander 2 has same ethos as the first generation vehicles but in a bigger package. The Freelander 2 is the size of the original Discovery 1, so it’s hard to call it a baby Land Rover any more. And it isn’t slow the diesel has a better top speed than a Discovery 3.
