WEELS AND RUBBER

The first modification we generally make to our vehicles is good rubber, rubber too. Tyre can really transform any 4Wd if you spend most of your kilometers off road, like most of us 4WD nuts try to then you’ll agree that it’s hard to go past a quality set of mud Tyre, in fact, for the real tough driving that we often put our vehicles through we have little choice but to buy quality tyres that will last more than one 4WD outing in an off road tread pattern that suits us best.

Recently when 4WDing in a deep muddy section of a local track, I was amazed at hove these tyres kept biting and clawing me forward. Usually where the Land Rover Defender would sink and need recovering the first thing I noticed was the amount of mud flicking out from the sides and the vehicle slowly creeping forward Later I realized that the tread pattern on these claws is extremely effective at clearing the mud from the mud from the tyers. They certainly don’t call them a claw for nothing. They might be a little noisy on the tarmac, but compared to how effective they are off road it’s a small sacrifice that I am willing to make.
