FIX THE AXLE

After cleaning the stud and casing flanges, place new gasket on the axle flange and fit the stud axle back into its rightful position, you might want to fit a new dirt shield at the same time. Even if it isn’t rusted through, it’s worth replacing this cheap item while apart. Bolt the stud axle onto the casing flange, with the dirt thread lock fluid to secure the bolts. clean the hub internally, prise out the rear bearing seal and fit a new one with the open end facing bearing, and oil its sealing lip if your bearings are getting a little tired, replace them before fitting the oil seal. knock out the old race with a suitable punch. clean up the surfaces of the hub, the knock in the new bearing track. you can use the old track to protect the new parts from damage.
inner lip of hub seal work against this collar if the surface is damaged, renew stub shaft, or on series vehicles, fit a new collar in place.pack place of stub shaft and fit the outer bearing race. push hub well back and press outer bearing race inward. fit this D washer over the stub shaft so that it sits against outer bearing. hold the assembly inward as you fit the inner nut. this must be adjusted to ensure correct bearing clearance fit new lock washer and bend to lock inner nut. then torque outer nut to 45lb ft, and lock it using another tab of the lock washer. fit new gasket and replace half shaft.torque bolts to 48lb ft. refit caliper (60lb ft). clip the brake pipes, and refit road wheel.
