OPTIONS FOR A REAR SERIES I

The two wheel drive Land Rovers contract for runabout vehicles were four wheel drive wasn’t necessary. They were made in series I and Series II versions, but only in small numbers. Of those that remain, it is sometime the case that they are in good condition they were very lightly used when in serviced and in good order when sold off.
Many have now been converted to four wheel drive, and that means that surviving two wheel drive versions re quit rear. I could count on one hand the two wheel drive Land Rover that I’ve seen. With this in mind, it would be a shame to put the later 2.25 engine into this vehicle but if it is included in the sale you must assume that the original engine has at least some wear.
The Land Rover that’s not quite so esoteric, and with proper dirty days four wheel drive capability, it will be better to look for something else.
