Unscrew the five Allen screws and remove the air filter cover and element, the Haynes manual for the Freelander. If only it was that simple. The top tree were easy to back of the housing were nearly impossible to access and you are you can’t see what you are doing.
If you fitting, trying to fit, a Piper cross air filter to the Freelander in the first stage of making it a touch livelier. You should have got the garage put it in when it was serviced. The Freelander has now had its first service since the warranty expired. It was actually done by any Land Rover garage.
No major faults were found apart from a tried rear diff mount, and the air filter. What can you say about the old filter? It should have been changed at the previous service, but the garage wasn’t convinced that it had been.
