I’ve had the new to me boost alloy wheel now, and it’s amazing how much better they’ve made the whole vehicle look. That’s true from a distance, anyway. But get closer, and the usual Defender imperfections show up dings and scratchers, rust flaking off the door hinges, blistering door bottoms.
It’s a visual clash a bit like wearing a denim jacket with pinstripe trousers. I don’t think that sinking a lot of cash into new3 doors and a repaint makes economic sense, so it’ll have to stay the way it is. One thing I’ve noticed is that those spacered out alloys really chunk the spry up and a repaint makes economic sense, so it’ll have to stay the way it is.
One thing I’ve noticed is that those spacered out alloys really chunk the spry up and along the side of the body work. We could do without the rufty -tufty off roader look, but we have to admit that a quick drive along a muddy verge does cover up the dings and scratchers pretty well. And it’s a lot cheaper than a repaint.
