That cargo run to the airport illustrated another of this vehicle’s strong points no matter how much gear you stuff into it, the ride quality and the performance remain totally unflustered. Very impressive. We do like the TD5 engine, although I think that if it wasn’t in a lease car we would consider some way of making it a bit perkier perhaps having the ECU remapped, like Editor Pearson’s TD5 Defender.
Its fine in everyday use we just miss having the extra 00mph for overtaking. There’s a bit of a flat spot when pulling away, too. You need to have that throttle wound up and ready to go when exiting at a busy junction.
Reliability’s been fine of late. A headlight bulb and a rear indicator bulb both failed in the same week which made me thin. Oh here we go, but it must have been coincidence, because we’ve had no more problems in the week since.
