The canvas is wetted, and then canvas cleaner is worked in with a paint brush and left to soak. After 20minits the fabric is scrubbed lightly and rinsed until clean. Thorough rinsing is really important to prevent streaks. The treatment can be repeated if necessary. Treating the windows is simple just rub in the cleaning cream with a soft cloth, allow it to dry, and then polish off.
How did it perform? well, I didn’t think the canvas cleaner would have any chance on the disgustingly greasy rear end of the canvas , but in fact it cleaned up a very light khaki colour, just what would be expected for an old canvas that has seen a lot of sunshine. The manufacture claims that the finish will be very even. We didn’t quite achieve that, but any remaining stains were very slight and quite in keeping with an old series I.
