DISCOVERY ENGINE REBUILD (part II)

Evenly slacken the plenum chamber’s set screw 6mm and then gently tap the cover to free it from the ram housing as shown. The hoses are marked with correction fluid for reassembly. The ram housing can now be removed after unscrewing the six bolts.
Pressure feed and return fuel lines on right rear of engine are disconnected and the ends plugged to stop fuel loss and dirt ingress, take engine oil cooler pipes from radiator, with auto transmission cooler pipes. Take off lower bracket from sump bolt. Lift radiator.
Remove drive fan belt, and the three wires from rear of alternator. If car has air con, unbolt compressor and secure to inner wing. Four nuts secure the fuel rail and each injector needs to be eased out from socket in rail. Place in sealed plastic bag to keep clean.
