MECHANICAL SIDE FOR SERIES

Reclaiming the number plate may be impossible without paperwork. Joint the series I club. The registration officer can date the vehicle from its build number (on the manufacture’s plate). Earlier 80 inches have this at the top right corner of the bulkhead inside the engine bay and looking in with the bonnet open.
Later 80s and the rest the gearlevers (visible in the cab). If this is missing it often is from trailers try scrubbing the spring hangers the two rights at the back. The same number is stamped here, tough may have rusted away, or been lost after repair.
The horn wasn’t an extra. An all Bakelite horn push fitted in the wheel center on earlier vehicles, but later Series I had a small button fitted on an outrigger bracket which clamped to the steering column. Things stayed that way for the introduction of the Series II, but then the wheel center horn push became available again, though this time with a chrome surround it’s quite possible your vehicle has been fitted with a steering box from a Series II or Series III.
