DISCOVERY ENGINE REBUILD (part I)

Radiator top cowling unclips and is easily removed. Top remove fan, unscrew nut using slim 36mm spanner, or flat jaw adjustable. Remove radiator hose and check for signs of cracking or rub marks. Note the two small hoses on RHS and mark them for refitment. Mark plugs leads, hose, and wire. Fortunately, most of the multi plugs are not the same. The air flow meter and pipe can now be unclipped.
Ignition leads, rotor arm and cap will be replaced. They seem to have a short life on V8 (to 18 month) before misfire develops. The addition of LPG does not cause problems only the hose from the vaporizer to the mixer on inlet pipe needs to be disconnected. Remove breather pipes from the plenum chamber top is vacuum feed to distributor.
Remove spilt pins and disconnect throttle and cruise cables, and pipe to diaphragm. Unplug throttle potentiometer and LPG wire.
