DEEP WATER WADING

You’ve check the depth you’ve done your bit with the WD 40, breather pipes clear recovery kit in place cover draped over the radiator to stop crud getting in you’re ready to go wading
Your aim should be to get up to 10-15mph, ideally on low box second gear. But don’t enter the water at that speed build up to it. By doing so you’ll create a near perfect bow wave, making your progress through the water far easier.

The bow wave disperses water immediately in front and to the sides of the Land Rover, effectively meaning that you’re driving in shallower water. Go too slowly and, if you suddenly encounter a looser section of river bed, you won’t have enough momentum to push past it you’ll grind to a halt
Go in too fast and well we’ve talked about the potential for damage. One example that springs to mind is a Range Rover driver who into a quarry pond way too quickly and actually pushed   the radiator back.
