The 4x4 Track

In the modified class, competitors can fit shortened chassis, longer springs, body lift, after market engine and a full complement of diff locks. Though recognizable as production 4x4s, they spot a few twists. Many competing Land Rovers, for example, have several feet lopped out of the nose, wheel bass and rear end. By the time the qualifiers assemble for the finals, the quality of driving on display is impressive. For lovers of sheer driving skill, the original and the standard class test engineering prowess and build ingenuity if there were any rich teams, they would have a huge advantage.
The basics classes, though, let the drivers show off their skill at spotting potential traps, picking the right line, and handling their machines. For lovers of the dram, however to prototype competition is the big draw. At the final’s end, two vehicles have a cleared every section without picking up a single penalty point. The many dirt roads that serve and tracks, and sheer severity of the land, encourage the development of extreme off roaders. They also offer some insight into way world class punchers far above its weight in international motor sport.
