If a quality part and correctly fitted, easily 100k miles, maybe 150k or more. Much depends on the using, and the driver’s ability to use it correctly.
The clutch release bearing rarely gives trouble, but a worn bearing will become noisy eventually, and so it always replaced as part of the kit. The socket of the release arm can be worn away by the pushrod, eventually breaking through similar to, though not this same as, the Tdi problem, so check for wear in the socket . Examine the securing clips and put a little grease on the linkages.
To help the clutch disc move along the gearbox shaft splines when the clutch is operated, apply a thin smear of grease to the forward end of the splines, so it spreads along the splines when the shaft passes through the disc when refitting the transmission to the engine. It’s important that this grease is minimal so that no excess can spin out on to the friction faces during use.
