Any dummy with a tuned Tdi engine, dislocating coiler suspension and aggressive tyers can climb up a muddy, but getting up that muddy in a bog standard series leafer really would be an achievement. And right now there are plenty of tatty old leaf sprung Land Rovers in circulation too bad to restore, too good to strap if there were standard specification trails for these old timers, maybe we’d see a resurgence of the less extreme and more skill based trailing that’s a now a thing of the past. From a time when vehicles were not much modified back then Land Rover trails wear about the owners skill in the getting the best from a fairly standard vehicle, not about costing a week’s wage to repair a weekends damage. There are one or two straws in the wind suggesting this may be an idea whose time has come. Or maybe it’s already happening? Back to the future? Let us know.
