SPEED SCALE

There’s a better system that will allow you to do just that the little known Beaufort Land Rover speed scale. Instead of judging the shape of the waves and the amount of spray, we pay attention to our Land Rover to judge its speed.
Top gear considerable transmission noise honking and hand gestures from passing motorists. Normal cruising speed 33 mph too slow, in the opinion of other road user. Rear view mirrors blurred, loud noise from the engine compartment, no honking or hand gestures speed 40 approx. No transmission noise, a little engine noise, smell of hot oil, noise of traffic. You have a pulled into a lay by to recover speed 0. Grinding transmission noises, loud engine noises, slow movement of scenery. you are changing up into second gear speed 7mph. Engine noise almost obscures transmission noise, smell of hot oil, perspiration on forehead and back of hands speed 50mph. Scenery goes backwards slowly, followed by a dull crunching noise. You have just reversed into the car parked behind you in the lay by speed 5mph.
It’s a method of shorts, but maybe it’s not a good idea to spend too much time peering at the Speedo and trying to figure out if that twitch of the needle was part of a general down swing, or because you just hit a pothole. No, you need to keep your eyes on the road.
