Don’t overload your electrical system. Older land Rovers had dynamos that, at best, put out 22 amps. At night, when you’ve got your foot on the brake, most of those 22 amps are being used just to power the lights. Add in the windscreen wipers, heater and the radio and you’re drawing more than is being created. More recent Land Rovers have much more powerful alternator (for example; a 300 Tdi Defender has a 45A one, while a 300 Tdi
Discovery has a 100A one) so you can fit more electrical accessories.
but make sure your wiring is sufficient. Adding auxiliary lights, compressor, inverter and fridge will test standard wiring looms, so it may be better to make a separate loom to cater for these rather than risk an electrical fire. Winchers should always be wired independently
