Rather than do what I did and get sarcastic, try to bombard Land Rover bores with some hard facts. Point out that most are used off road and that their proven longevity means they are less costly to the environment than most of today’s short lived models.
There’s also the undisputed social side. Take greenlining, for example. How else are disabled and elderly people expected to enjoy the countryside in the manner that able bodied ramblers take for granted. To deprive them is surly an attack on their human right?
But, most of all, tell them about the tens of thousands of workers in the West Midlands whose jobs depend on the continued success of Land Rover. Should their livelihood be sacrificed on the altar of political correctness?
