SPIRIT OF ADVENTURE

Apart from the obvious spirit of adventure that comes with owning a Land Rover, they make sense in safari parks. Speeds are walking pace low, so dropping into low range allows you   to bumble round without having to slip the clutch as many other cars have to do.
Eventually, we came to the monkey enclosure. The traffic jam had thickened, as a Volvo had broken down deep in monkeys ignored the sitting duck and were riding round on the moving vehicle. The last time I was at another forest was in 1999 and the monkey enclosure was absolutely strewn with rubber seals, windscreen wiper blades and spare wheel covers. This time the ground was relatively clear. I still had concern for a couple of bits of the Land Rover, though, such as the raised air intake and the alpine light filler strip.
