THE RANGE ROVER LIGHT

Problems with the interior light are common but disconnecting the battery is a bit extreme. Why not take the bulb out? The usual cause is the door switchers not disconnecting when the doors are shut. First of all check your doors and particularly the tailgate where corrosion can affect operation. If the light does not go off with all the switchers fully in the, then proceed to the delay unit.
This is situated behind the dashboard in the area above the pedals. The unit has wire going to it, which are purple white feed to the lights green auxiliary live feed purple blue tailgate switch and switch on interior lamp black earth purple/orange door switchers.
Remove the purple/ blue wire. If this cures the problem, then it’s the tailgate switch or the problem then it’s the tailgate switch or the switch on the light which is at fault. Remove   the purple/orange. If this cures it, then it’s a door switch problem.
