All we needed to do on the fluid side is to keep the reservoir under the bonnet topped up, and to report any noticeable fluid loss. Check the fluid level through the side of the translucent reservoir if it’s clean, giving the reservoir a tap to see the fluid move so you know that you are not looking at the stain. Otherwise, remove the cap being careful not to let any dirt inside.
Incidentally, the system is fail safe in that the suspension will operate in the same way as a standard Discovery if fluid pressure is lost, but care is still needed because there will be a marked difference in handling that takes a while to get use to.
Occasionally check that the red warning lamps come on when the ignition is switched on. It’s under the rev counter, and has the same symbol as shown on the fluid filler cap. The lamp should extinguish after a couple of seconds
