HOW DO THE SPRINGS AND DAMPERS

Undo the damper nut. The Discovery’s was stubborn, spinning the damper, so we attacked it with JP’s Draper impact wrench remove the lower damper securing nuts. You may need a small spanner about 6mm or 7mm to prevent the damper from spinning, remove the nuts securing the spring turret to the chassis. You may need a long extension bar to get those in the engine bay.
Two allow sufficient room to get the turret out, you may have to remove a turbo pipe but don’t forget to put it back afterwards. Left the turret out and retrieve the damper. If you couldn’t undo the damper at step 1, clamp the damper in a vice and undo the nuts. Remove the spring by fully lowering the jack and pulling the spring out. Loosely fit the top spring seat into place using a couple of nuts.
Then fit the new spring. The passenger side went on without any fuss, but we had to use spring compressors to get the driver’s one in extend and compress damper twice, then fit to turret. Correct washer bush sequence washers with centre lips face fit next to turret. Left axle slightly to enable you to get bottom of the damper into place. Fit the bushes and washers, then bolt up turret and turbo pipes.
