WHEEL BEARING AND BRAKES

Getting the hub off is slightly more difficult than on the rear. We chose to remove the caliper first, so clamped the brake hoses. Next, we cleaned round the brake pipe union and undid them.  Have a suitable vessel to hand to catch any drips of fluid. Remove the brake pads, then undo the two bolt holding the caliper to the stub axle and move it out of the way
Prise off the halfshaft end cap, remove the circlip and the shims, and then undo the bolts which secure the drive flange to the axle. Fold the tabs of the lock washer back and undo the lock nuts. Ease the hub assembly off the stub axle and remove the oil seal. Knock the bearing out with a suitable drift, and then clean up the hub. This shows how the bearing driver sits inside the bearing track.
Grease bearing and fit a new seal. Fit the lock washer and lock nut and knock the washer edges over. Finally, refit the drive flange, shim circlip and end cap.
