LIGHT AND EASY DOES IT

The light on Defenders, like Series vehicles before them are cheap to replace. When smashed the rear light on your vehicle you have to replace new lenses. But what they gain in being cheap, they lose in light spread. They are good when you good view them straight on and their shape makes them easily visible from the sides. But this 

day, when drivers pay less attention to driven then they should bigger is better.

Which is way you gone for a set of rear light. As always, a relatively simple job turned out to be a complete nightmare. Late 300TDI Defenders have bulb holders that clip into the lens holders. Once you have undone the screws and removed the lens, you twist the holder about 30degree to get at the bulb
