For a vehicle of this size the Range Rover lacked interior stowage space, especially Discovery 3 and Land Rover Sport is. To overcome this, Land Rover has shifted the side airbags from the doors to the seats, meaning they now move with the occupants and that’s left space in the doors for some large pockets. Double glove boxes provide move storage space in the dash which is also redesigned to enable better positioning of the controls.
The gear change lever is now offset towards the driver, making it easier to reach. Only thing is, the gear indicator faces away from you on the left hand drive version, so you can’t see what gear you’re in unless you look at the digital dash readout. As you join the motorway you flick the gearlever couple of gears. The power surge is impressively strong and very smooth. There’s even a delightful induction growl reminiscent of past petrol V8s.
